Creating a theme
An existing user collection can be converted into a theme, or a new collection can be created for this purpose.
1. Go to My Collections in the top navigation
2. Type the collection name under ‘Create New Collection’ and click ‘Create’
3. Beside ‘Access’ choose ‘Public’ from the dropdown menu
4. Select the Theme category that the collection belongs to. If there is no appropriate theme category, enter a new theme name.
5. Click Save
Adding resources to a theme
1. Go to Team Centre > Manage Themes
2. Under the help instructions, you will see a list of your themes, with a sub-list under each showing the collections in that theme.
3. Click on ‘Edit Collection’ and the relevant collection will appear in your collections window. You can then start adding items by clicking ‘add to collection’ in the Resource Tools box.
Removing a theme
To remove a theme you need to edit it and deselect it's theme category. It then reverts to being a normal public collection under the control of whoever originally created it.
Customizing themes for groups (development/subversion)
It is possible to customize which Themes are visible for each group. This is controlled by adding permissions to the group in System Setup:
j* Can see all theme categories
j? Can see theme in category ? (e.g. jCars,jAnimals)
If you really need to have several theme categories with the same name appearing for different groups but with different content you can add a HTML comment which won't appear on the site e.g. "<!--groupA-->Publications".
Using Smart Themes as a way of categorizing resources in tree like structure
Smart Themes is a feature to make it possible to Autocreate Themes based on custom fields you have to manually add. Read more on how to set this up here: Customising Types and Fields
